I'm starting this thread for humorous ANECDOTES related to babysitters.. I'll start it off with one of mine.Before heading out for the day, my sims put their two toddlers into the playpen. I queued them up with 'Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus', then called the babysitter. The babysitter picked up one of the kids then put them back in the playpen. I had to requeue 'Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus'. He then picked up the other one and put it back in the playpen. Again, 'Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus, Learn to Talk, Play with Abacus'. He keeps switching between them. PLEASE leave them alone.

Sounds to me like you need to just leave and go on your date or whatever.It will only stress you out just let whatever the babysitter has in mind happen naturally.If anything the babysitter saved them and gave them what they wanted "Human Affection not a controlling dictator sim parent. :rage: So am calling sim social services on you for being a neglectful parent."Here little johnny some fun toys to play with" sounds harmless but when he grows up to be a serial killer drowning his friends in a pool it will all make sense that a hug was all he wanted. :D

The above has been a Public Service Announcement from the CravenLestat School of Child Development. :D While I might not go quite that far, I think one should be thrilled to have a babysitter that even wants to pick up the toddlers in their care instead of standing around doing useless stuff like repeatedly taking their own selfie pics. The worst ones are the sitters that keep standing on the edge of the lot while doing nothing useful, one step off and one of my older sims gets called back home because the game thinks there are unattended babies/toddlers there all of a sudden. Had to replay an offsite wedding six times not all that long ago until I finally realized that my sims had to bring the young ones to the ceremony in order to get through it properly.

So I guess if that's the symptom of not getting the hugs he needed, then a sim whose imaginary friend was taken away and stored in dad's inventory for the crime of being too creepy would... use a purple dragon to abduct hot female townies and keep them in his dungeon?I'm still mad at Candy Ashleydale for letting one of my toddler sims cry for an entire workshift with hunger pangs and a soiled diaper while Candy just stood there turning up the stereo to drown out the kid's shrieks of distress. ONE diaper change and bottle, 20 minutes of her time, and she could have left the kid to play with the peg box while she watched TV for the rest of the shift with absolutely no protest from me. Was that too much to ask? (Apparently it was.)

I had a baby sitter who wouldn't change a dirty diaper. He just stood around complaining about the baby crying. When my sims and came home and looked after the poor kid, somebody had to stay up, because the bladder was about to pop again. If they were any later, the kid would have had a double load to clean up. That is, if the kid had been fed. She was red-lining hunger and social. I fed, snuggled, played with then went to the bathroom, came back changed the second dirty diaper, snuggled and played with again. The kid was still red-lining energy. The two toddlers were in the crib. Normally the baby would sleep in the swing, but not when they are that tired. The baby sitter lets you leave the lot. Don't count on them to look after the kids.

I don't have problems with babysitters anymore. I use NRaas Master Controller to change their traits. I take away the kleptomaniac trait they all have, along with any other trait they have that might get in the way of them doing what they're supposed to do. Then I give them family oriented or nurturing, or both.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one that gets useless babysitters. I'm about to start off with a family for once and I foresee more useless babysitters.

Everytime I ever left them with toddlers or babies, they were worse off than when my sims left.

I have to use cheats just to keep babies and toddlers healthy & happy while they are left alone with a babysitter. That's why I've started keeping elders in the household instead of kicking them out or move in one of my sims friends as live-in help. Another option is to keep a spare around.

The current generation in my game hired a friend to stay with them. She cooks, cleans, and will take care of the children. Using NRaas: Careers, she's employed as a Homemaker. Oh, a few nights ago she literally blew up the kitchen cooking. That was fun.

I didn't even know that Sims 3 had babysitters. I always just used a butler.

Sometimes I think some of my more intelligent toddlers should be paid to look after the babysitters so they don't get into too much trouble while supposedly left in charge. >:)

The best babysitter I've ever had was Abel Bodey from Twinbrook and no, he is absolutely not a nurturing/family oriented sim... :relieved:

I've come to notice that babysitters don't do anything when you left them unsupervised (as in, the camera is not in the lot), there was one time I was with the parents somewhere else and then went to check on the twins back home, I soon found out they where really hungry and dirty crying their lungs out while the babysitter was just standing outside the house! :angry: but as soon as he felt my omnipresent self looming near by he went to take care of the twins :naughty:
