Barney Bay
Is it true that Barnacle Bay is known to be stuttery, laggy and buggy, or is it that people just say that to cover up that they find it unpleasant for the lack of houses and interesting community lots, all the rain and the drab decor? Possibly another factor for the types of sims in it.
I started a game in Barnacle Bay because I thought with it physically being so small with not much in it in terms of houses, people, land .. that it would be the easiest on the specs.
However, I have just come out of it to look up some style ideas for my sims' new house and for the one they're living in while they save up for the new proper one. I thought I would try to find what the pre-made house they're in looked like originally, because my sims bought it as unfurnished, and I thought the original decor and other houses' in the world would be good to try to stay in theme with somewhat, as well as a Greek Island feel, maybe ..
That was a popular place for pirates eh, and also I just have an interest in that and my sims' names are inspired by ancient Greek one's, a mixture of the House of Atreus and some others to do with Troy and all that ..
Anyway, so while I was looking stuff up to inspire me, I see comments resulting too, from Reddit and other places, complaining about the, besides ugliness, also jitteriness, bugs. And come to think of it my sims are jittering quite a bit ... but I thought that was more to do with my laptop :O
If it turns out it is the world and not my laptop, then which world is the smoothest with the least drain on the ole puter? Surely not Lucky Palms, I have other saves in that one I don't want to future-distract from.
I think I'm going to watch some countryside living TV shows for building and decorating inspiration. Maybe some getaway type shows for the island theme inspiration, food ones in Mediterranean places .. mix it all together. Pun!
Ever see Kenny Everett? At the end of the 'horse on wells' joke he groans ... its like that.
