Bunk Beds -- Special Top Bunk Access

Has anyone ever had this issue where a kid (or a teen or whoever, really) goes to climb the ladder to the top bunk of a bed that is against the a wall, and they actually go into the next room to go through the wall and climb up the other side's ladder? Man this game does some weird things. And I am also getting this weird issue lately with my sims going to bed to sleep, but they aren't tired at all, in the middle of the day. Or putting a toddler in their cribs when they aren't tired. In the middle of the day. I know they usually do in the middle of the night when they feel they "should be" sleeping, but this is just bizarre lately.
  • There are two common solutions to the bunk bed issue. One is to move them away from the wall slightly. The other is to place something on the other side of the wall, a small piece of furniture or a bookcase maybe, to block the unwanted access. I usually go with the other side fix, to the extent it's possible.

When a Sim is tired and there is a toddler around that is not in a crib the tired Sim will put the toddler to bed before going to bed themselves. It drives me crazy at times as I battle the tired Sim to get the toddler out of the cot again before they go to bed themselves.

I made a short video of my Sim playing in the sprinklers. Very funny. It was her idle activity.

I rarely use sprinklers now. There are so many other options. It used to be sprinklers or hand water or no garden when my Sim was constantly playing in them.

The bunk bed glitch is a known glitch and shouldn't prevent sims from sleeping in them... it's just odd and annoying.
As for sims going to bed with full energy or putting toddlers to bed even when not sleepy, I get that too. I don't think it's a glitch... more like free will in action and our sims feel bored reaching for random interactions. That's my take on it anyways.
  • I think putting something in the way on the other side is a great idea. I rty to stay away from placing things "slightly" different. My controls aren't great and I get frustrated when I can't place something in the exact place on want (even with the alt on). Sigh anyway, thanks for the tip. I am gonna try that.
  • @Karritz Yes I hate that ! When I see it pop up in their queue, I click it off really fast like "Nope don't even think about it!" When I fail to do it in time and that sim has already gone to bed after putting toddler in the crib and I have to wake them up to go take the baby out. Ugh it is a process...

Another automation that drives me nuts (there are so so many) but with the baby swing. The babies get sick when it is on fast, but my sims always just randomly decide to go over and put it on fast. And when I say no and click it off, a few seconds later, they go to try it again. Sigh. So annoying. I used to have an issue with sprinklers with my gardening sim. She constantly was trying to play with the sprinklers. Luckily I found a mod that gets rid of that issue.
