Can NHD files be Safely Deleted from Save Folder?

@Jed_Bartlet_02, I believe it is safe to do so, though I have not tried myself.
See here All the Uni Sims are old where @igazor makes a similar suggestion as a means of resetting the University World when all the Sims there have gotten old when sending a new generation there.
He doesn't mention the related package file though. I guess the best thing to do is make a backup copy of the game before trying and see if the game still loads correctly.
