Can't log into the Sims 3 web pages

Just recently when I click log on the Sims 3 web page in I get taken to the EA log in page. I log in there, but it is very hit and miss. When I go back to the Sims 3 web pages I am not logged in, and clicking log in again has no result. Which means I can't buy anything from the Store or download from the Exchange as I am "not logged in". Two out of three attempts over the last week or two have failed. Any ideas?

Edited to add - I use Edge. I know Sims likes Internet Explorer, but it's always worked for me on Edge before.

    The Launcher and elements of the game itself use parts of Internet Explorer silently as they run as that is how they are programmed. You might try clearing the cache and cookies (be sure to deselect Preserve Favorites Web Data) on IE even if you never use it yourself.

    But if Edge is going to be fussy on you for these procedures, perhaps try IE, Firefox, or Chrome to access the TS3 site?
