Can't Play....

Three times tonight, I have tried to play. My Late Night and High End Loft trials have ended, and of course the hair on my vampire was Late Night stuff and got removed. It didn't just change the hair style; it changed the color. So, all three times I opened the game, of course I wanted to fix the hair; but when I do, the program glitches out. I can't rotate the vampire, I can't accept the changes, I can't cancel the changes, and I can't open the other option tabs (clothing, looks, etc.). I can't do anything, so I've just opened Task Manager and forced the game to close.
My space issue has been resolved, so that's not it. But it might be worth mentioning that I am trying to install store content, which has worked before...I really don't know anything about the capacity of this game or how to fix issues. If you must walk me through a repair process, please use tiny words and maybe include pictures.
  • I don't have any experience with the free trials, but we do know that you cannot load an ongoing game that has been saved using certain EPs if those EPs are ever removed -- the game will either not load or it will be unstable with undefined things and errors everywhere. Sims created using EP content also require that content to stay in play in order to be usable. Not CAS parts so much, I mean things like traits, skills, and occult states. I assume your game is not in Bridgeport because without LN it shouldn't even be able to load as the world file won't be usable anymore.

How is it that this vampire can still exist if you no longer have Late Night? Do you have Supernatural? It's possible that SN-only vampires are not exactly the same creatures as LN vampires, and the game is not reacting well to the EP removal on that sim.

Can you start a new game now someplace else or do bad things continue to happen without the EP trial in play?

You may need to dump (pull out or rename) your TS3 user game folder in Documents and start with a fresh one if you are unable to play at all with or add store content to the current one in place.
  • Let us know how that works out, if you could. My expectation unfortunately is that especially without mods (ErrorTrap in particular), sims created and played with LN in play aren't going to function without it. For example, they will have now undefined skill levels for the piano, drums, and cello. Even if these sims never touched those musical instruments and were thus all at Level 0, the game wouldn't really know how to read or what to do with such data now.
  • I do have Supernatural, and I deleted the Bridgeport save after moving the Sims to Moonlight Falls. I just did a fresh start game, and everything seems fine. I went back to the vampire and the glitch is still there. She and her family are all saved to the bin, so I might try deleting that save and transporting them to a different neighborhood.

Moving them to a new town fixed the problem. :D
