CC hair problem

One of my sims has a CC hairstyle. Every time she is bathing or having a shower, her hair are changed to certain base game hair. When she aged up, it also changed to that non-CC hairstyle. It's really annoying, the base game hair I'm talking about are imho ugly as sin. Is there a way to stop the hair changing without using NRaas MC?

The creator most likely forgot to enable the hair for 'Naked' which is a hidden outfit assignment. In order for children to wear this hairstyle, check if the creator made a child version. Different life stages don't all have the same 'Bone Assignments' so the creator must create extra versions for those life stages. It goes like this... Toddler (P), Child (C), Teen (T), and Young Adult(YA)/Adult(A)/Elder(E). U=Unisex so for an example... PU= Unisex Toddler.

You can use a tool called S3PE (not a mod) to open the package file and edit the clothing categories.
    Download & Install S3PE.

    • Right-click .package file and Open with > Sims3 Package Editor (S3PE). Another option is to launch S3PE and at the top File > Open... choose .package file.
    • Under Tag select CASP
    • At the bottom click the Grid button
    • Data Grid window will appear. ClothingCategory > Naked True/False
    • After you make changes, click the Commit button. This will apply any changes made.
    • At the top File > Save

If this is a Sims3pack and not a package file, you will need another tool to convert it to a package file in order to edit it. (Delphy's Sims 3 Pack Multi-Extracter) Here is the guide: https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/03/tutorial-sims3packs-to-packages.html

If you got this CC hairstyle from a sim on the exchange, it's a little tricky but doable to separate the hair from the sim. Read this thread here: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/16197336#Comment_16197336

(When you fiddle with the package in S3PE, you will see that you can enable it for other ages but it won't look right without the correct bone assignments.)

If she still isn't wearing the hair when in the shower or just naked then save her outfit(s) with a different hair then jump back to the CC hairstyle to see if that fixed it. There is another way too but a bit more involved and I'd have to look it up.

The creator may have checked it off for all ages accidentally without the merged packages for other ages. I'd double check their download page to see which ages/life stages it's made for.
  • Overwatch's Purge Genetic Hairs set to True I think would actually encourage the randomizations of hairstyles on age-ups, not prevent them. Our lead developer seems to think so too.

No problem... I've edited my post to add a little more info too.

The hair is available for all life stages from teen to elder and my sim was aging up from a YA to an adult. I don't know why she had her hairstyle changed. The naked "outfit" issue was the main problem.
    Thanks for useful information
  • Does anyone have a link that works for Sims3PE? I can't find a working link and I would really like to hide some in-game content, my CAS lags so much! :)

The game will change the hairstyle of your Sim on aging up. (Don't know why the developers thought this was such a good idea. Like you, I find it annoying.) NRaas Overwatch has a setting called Purge Genetic Hairs which "enables a nightly purge of new genetic hairstyles". Otherwise, I don't know of any other way to prevent the game from doing this.

When you click on SimplyJen's S3PE link above, it takes you to the Simlogical page for the program. When you click on the link for "Windows Easy Installer version", that link takes you to SourceForge where the program will be automatically downloaded for you.
  • I should have clarified that I change it to False as I don't like to see the game give my inactives different hair all the time. Confuses me  .
