Community Lot Keeps Changing

This is a weird one. I made a Festival lot in Aurora Skies, and placed all the stalls and activities I wanted there, I also made an outdoor restaurant and hired a chef etc etc.
When I went back there after playing another game, the lot had changed, like the game decided how IT wanted the lot to be designed. This has happened a few times now, plus, all the furniture in the outdoor restaurant has disappeared, along with the kitchen stuff. Clearly this is a bug.
I've bulldozed the lot completely and rebuild another Festival Ground, and yet again it's changed.
Has anyone else had this happen in their game?
Currently I have bulldozed the lot, and made it a big park and made it completely different to see what happens.
When I first built that lot I had placed the Boxcar diner on it. That, too, disappeared, yet at the world view it's showing up as dine there, but it's not there! :o

    Festival Lots pretty much by definition have a seasonal lot marker on them. There are really 4 different lots, one for each season. If you add something to let's say the Summer version, it won't be there for the other three. There is also a Construction Mode where what you add only lasts for a sim day or so, and is not meant to be permanent. I'm a bit fuzzy on this myself as I almost never work with these markers.

    Thanks igazor, that now makes total sense as to what's been going on! (well that was a waste of time putting those restaurants in each Festival Ground, I know now when I go to play the next one, it, too, will have changed!)

    It sounds like you put the resteraunt objects in in a season mode for one season so it would only be there for one season.I would've added that in common mode if I wanted it there all of the time and out things in for a season if I only want them there seasonally.I've worked with building my own festival lots from scratch on empty lots and they can be very tricky to work with.I place all objects I want to remain on the lot full time in the initial build before I activate the cheats to add the marker and set it up as the festival lot.

    Wow, this is all new to me, I had no idea, but since reading these posts.
    That link @igazor was very useful.
    I think I'll just redesign the big parks and leave the festival grounds as they are.
    At least I know now why my lot kept changing. I thought I had a bugged lot! :D

    I've added things like that in common mode not construction mode and those things are always there in every season unlike things placed in constuction mode which only show up between seasons and things added in one season's mode will only show up for that one season unless they were added to another season as well which means they'd show up in each of the two seasons where they were added.I didn't advise adding the resteraunt things in construction mode and things in common mode will vanish in a season mode in build or buy modes on the lot from edit town though not in live play when the seasons change.

    I'm thinking you could be right. No other community lot has changed before, and I don't suppose I've rebuilt on the Festival Grounds before. I'll see if the FG are changing as the seasons change in my other games.

    I can change festival lots though I need to activate cheats first and make sure things get added to the right modes.I just start my scratch builds like any other normal builds and set spaces aside for seasonal items to be placed in each season's mode.You don't have to keep the festival lots as they are if you follow the right steps in editing it.I would activate TCE and buy debug cheats before changing one of the EA lots and switch the marker to the right modes with it being switched to common mode in between each mode switch.

    Like Igazor said, it most likely has to do with the lot markers.Working with festival lots is a bit tricky, I've only made one once.And it took a good while to get used to it.If you want the restaurant in each season, you have to rebuild it in each season(change the marker to the season you want) Otherwise its gonna disappear.Same if you want to last all year long, you got put it into each season along with construction mode.

    Too hard basket! Thanks for that, anyway.Maybe if I find I have hours on end free at some time, I might give it a go.

    I would set the resteraunt up in common mode if I wanted to have it there for all seasons instead of adding it in seasonally or just add it for the seasons where I wanted it if I didn't want it there in all seasons.
