Custom Paintings Disappear

My problem is not exactly the same, but after installing Generations custom paintings in walls that were there previous to the installation are blank canvas.

Did this ever get figured out? I am having the same problems - no mods for me.

Just having this problem for the first time. When I drag a painting from my sim's inventory onto the wall at home (all walls are up) at first the painting appears to fit, But I let go and the painting disappears. It is not in my inventory, its not on the other side of the wall.

It's strange because the large masterpieces seems to be the one that are affected the most. I haven't had problems hanging small masterpieces of medium average paintings.

Any idea? I swear I saw someone who had this problem before and got it fixed but now for the life of me I can't remember how he fixed it or where I even saw the information.

Someone over at Nraas posted a nice work around for this issue. Use moveobjects on and then drag the painting to somewhere midair. Go into buy mode and move the painting onto a wall. If it disappears, you can hit undo and then drag the painting back into your inventory in live mode. Could change the name so you know it disappears.

Not a solution but at least you don't lose your paintings and you can just sell 'em.

I've had the same problem, large paintings "disappearing" once place on a wall, and nothing else can be placed there. Very frustrating glitch! I found that when I went to build mode and destroyed the the wall the price of the painting was included in the $$$ the wall sold for.

It's a glitch with the game, though the only time I've had it happen is when my sims move to a new house. I've found that if I have the painting in a sim's inventory, if I have them give it to another household member as a gift, it can be placed on the wall without disappearing.

Most of the time now, though, I use NRaas Master Controller. If a painting disappears when I place it on the wall, I use MC to move it to the household inventory, though all paintings of the same size in the house will be moved with it, because you can't select individual paintings. Then I place them all on the walls with no trouble.

And yes, I know this thread has been necro'ed, but the new member seems to possibly be looking for an answer, so it seems legitimate to ask on a thread that's already about the same topic, which is still relevant.

One thing that works for me is using NRaas DebugEnabler. Zoom out to map view, click on the house’s map tag, and choose NRaas > DebugEnabler > Options > Make All Visible. Hope this helps :)

You can also use nraas MasterController to move just the one painting if you know where it's supposed to be. Click on the ground, nraas>MC (option with bullseye)>radius add to inventory and select a suitably small radius (range is from 1 to 9). This will bring up a list of all the items nearby, and you can pick the painting(s) that disappeared on you.
