So I downloaded a couple of default skin replacements for the first time ever (seeing the creativity of some sims in other threads here made my sims feel a little.. vanillaey lately :P)Put them in packages folder, deleted all the cache files like CASPartcache etcWent in game and notice no difference? First time I've ever decided to try replacing EA default. Doesn't default mean.. default? Am I missing a step?I've gone into CAS using master controller and not seeing any options either. I'm lost!

I use Kurasoberina HD Primer as my default skin but I can't really say what it looks like in game because I always use non-default skins on my active sims. My townies look good in the Primer but that's without looking closely at them and they are usually dressed ;)

@McTosh It's not you, I think it happens to everyone. Don't be disheartened, just keep clearing caches and restarting the game and eventually the skins will look normal I promise :smile:

I agree with @coco that you should keep clearing your caches and reloading the save. Even with a default replacement skin I have found that when I start a new save townies will often have EA skin on until the default replacement kicks in. Perhaps the blotchiness is because the skin is because it is still trying to cover the EA skin.

Nevermind, seems to have fixed its self randomly while playing lol. Don't like them though, it makes me sims look like they have some kind of disease, like leprosy or something.. black plague.. skin blemishes

does anyone have a good default replacement suggestion? i want one that doesn't take away from the game too much, it's gonna blend in well with the world, like an ultra realistic wouldn't go very well. something close to original but... way better and more defining. if you get me

um something primer. apparently it's one of the best but for me it just makes my sims look 'dirty' with blotches all over them like they have the black plague or something as pictured above, weirdd.

anyway i found navetsea's blog and downloaded normal as default and all the rest as non-default, or the ones whose links weren't dead anyway.

and OMG this is amazing i can't believe i haven't tried custom skins before, i was always scared of borking the game. but since it's a fresh game anyway i took the risk..

btw how do you know what custom skin you're using in CAS??? i just get little folder icons to say they're custom, but not the name so i have no idea which is what xD

I've had blotchy skins in the past and I found that clearing my caches a few times and resetting my sims eventually made it go away.

it looked exactly the same as my did, unfortunately the thread ended with no solution.

i've cleared the skins out and deleted cache and just put one back in to test.

Did you check that you didn't accidentally install two default skins? You can only have ONE default skin but as many non-default as you want.

@McTosh Try having your sims change clothes a couple times. I've seen blotchy skins on townies and it always happens when I put a new default skin in.

yeah, it's definitely not the skin. i took everything out package folder and put just one in, then a different one, testing different ones, even starting a new game. they just all look diseased:
