DasmX86Dll.dll not found

I am at my wits end with EA support. Over two weeks and no resolution. I have been asked 5 times to update my drivers and clear my temp files, and responded each time with a new DxDiag to verify that I have updated all drivers and stating "I have updated my drivers." Clearly, a break down in communication happened somewhere.

My only hope is to reach out to other Simmers and see if anyone has managed to come up with a resolution to this problem. Or if someone knows that EA will be addressing this issue with a future patch. I have seen multiple threads about this same issue, but were closed and/or locked without any resolutions.

During game play, anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, the game will soft crash to the desktop. There are no Windows errors. No blue screens.

Upon researching The Sims 3 folder through My Documents, I found a crash file with the following:

006c9d1d => DasmX86Dll.dll not found.

I know this was an issue previously with Spore, but those resolutions don't pertain to The Sims 3 (and might break my Spore game instead). Interestingly enough (or maybe not so interesting, more of a sad realization), EA support has not once mentioned during troubleshooting about the crash files I have found.

Computer Specs (Alienware Laptop):

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS (2 cards)
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3
Memory: 2048MB RAM (4 gigs in reality)
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-44, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.4GHz (it's actually 3.5, my DxDiag doesn't pull up my full system specifications for my Processor, Ram, or notice that I have 2 graphics cards)
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Here are the important chunks of the crash file:

Troubleshooting that has been attempted:

Re installation of The Sims 3 on 4 occasions; 3 manual uninstalls in total.

Complete update of every driver possible. The only driver that really was updated were the graphics cards, and this was to a beta driver. The previous drivers were able to play the game, but still experienced the same crash issue regardless.

Used the System Check tool at: http://www.ea.com/games/the-sims-3 Passed with flying colors for system requirements.

Cleared out temp files and cache. Defragged hard drive. Did a full system scan for viruses and spyware; came up clean on all fronts.

Ran Windows Update for any lingering patches that may not have been received.

Checked computer temperature during game play; did not exceed 60 degrees.

I am able to play Spore, Unreal Tournament 3, Fallout 3 at their highest graphic/sound output without any issues, and those games have some pretty high PC requirements for play.

Apologies for the long post. I'm just hoping there is a resolution as I feel that my attempts with EA have been futile. I have wasted $69.99, not including tax, on a collector's edition game that I can't play. And this all reaffirms for me why I will never purchase an EA product ever again. I understand that new PC releases will come with a few bugs here and there. But the lack of response from EA is what has been getting to me.

Edit: As an aside, I'd appreciate not being sent back to the EA Support Forums. EA's technical assistance has been doing that to every one of my responses, and none of the answers listed address my particular issue. It becomes quite cumbersome after a while.
