I think the best paying job is not having a job at all. You can rake in major money being a university student. Then you can make tons doing work for the bistro as a scuba diver, especially if you have the opportunistic lifetime reward. Two eels = over 16k without opportunistic and over 32k with it.

If you really want to hold a job, though, any of them pay well if you have the associated degree, especially if you graduated with an A.

But it's true, once you find an island, it's yours. You don't need to buy it.
