I try to be diverse in my simworlds, if i am not playing LGBT sims at the time there are at least a few of them in my town, with SP mod i set the ratio to be 34% same sex preference. Feels more realistic that way. This is of course reflective of me in RL , when i was younger i was active in the local LGBT community as much as I could be, but then life happened and i ended up in a very different relationship and lifestyle than i imagined myself..now i guess some of what i miss leaves me with a longing that i fill in Sims, which results in a 1/3 maybe slightly more of my saves currently having gay/trans* sims.(as the main toons)
I try to play diverse in ethnicity , though im not too great at that, as well body types, all sorts of sims in my town....but i tend to gravitate toward gay families a lot. I always have used adoption for them but now with ITF I will have to have a go at some genetic engineering.
This was the best answer <3
I was in the LGBT community as well but
i had gotten pregnant and engaged
so that all changed for me
i feel ya, and thanks.
I fully intend, especially now being where I am, to get back into the community and make friends I can share that with, but it's hard for moldy old mom to make my way in there..or at least i seem to think so, my intimidation has me bested for now.
But I'm growing bolder and the most important person in my life...my hubby supports who I am so ,maybe it won't just be my sims living fabulously.
Now if the store would just give us some skirts for guy sims, and more button down shirts and slacks and suits for female sims, I would be thrilled. I was ecstatic when i realized that little boy sims could dress up like a princess if they wanted too, or the little girl sims could dress up like a prince. That was an excellent touch EA allowed.krimsonnox wrote:

They wont make skirts or anything like that :( *sadly* x
but if you want that here <3
Skirts for men ; http://modthesims.info/d/418465
Suits for women ; http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:17680&categoryId=&scategoryId=11873&pcategoryId=&ppcategoryId=&gender=female&startAt=120
( only click if you download cc )- I have that suit, one of my faves, don't use cc though anymore. I don't see why they can't at least do it for a gothic theme, you see that in high fashion, i'll even take more recolorable kilts styles. lol
- The Sims that I play with the most are all straight. Frequently though, I create gay or lesbian townsfolk, households. I like to have a diverse town with a lot of different and interesting Sims. It's like in the real world. It would be terribly boring if everybody was the same. Peoples differences are what make life interesting. So I feel that it should be the same for Sim life.
- Until recently I've only created LGBT couples and placed them in my town, since I wanted my Sim towns to have some diversity & equality, and have only played a few Sims that were gay/lesbian, since they got the 'attracted too' moodlet to a Sim of the same gender. :)
For my legacy, the current legacy heir (I'm using her picture for my signature) is a lesbian. She started flirting with her best friend, so I decided that just because I was doing a legacy didn't mean that I had to force her to find a guy.
Can you do the genetically create a baby thing that came with ITF without going into the future? My heir and her GF (soon to be wife) are wanting kids, and I think it would be neat if their children looked like them, but I don't want to have them time traveling. - katitjvNew SpectatorI haven't had any in the Sims 3. Actually one of my female sims got asked on a date by another woman, but I really wanted her to have biological children, so I didn't let her go. I hooked her up with a guy. I'm kind of a control freak, when it comes to, who I let my sims date, if I want them to have kids. I don't even let them choose their boyfriends most of the time :)
I currently have twin girls in my game, and I've only decided that once they become young adult I move them out as housemates and start playing with them. I've only decided one of them will have a baby, but not be married. So I might actually give them a bit more chances to choose, who they end up dating. And I wouldn't care about the gender, except that the other one needs a guy to be the dad of her baby.
In the Sims 1 I actually had a lesbian couple, and a gay couple that had a child. And in the Sims 2 I think I also had a lesbian couple for a while. But I only played both the Sims 1 and 2 so briefly that I don't remember much about what I did with them. - Sometimes. I'd say about 25% of my sims are gay or have had at least one homosexual relationship. It really just depends. I rarely start with any real story or goals in mind these days. I just let the story tell itself, if that makes sense. If I think that two sims would be a good romantic fit for each other, I just let them do their thing and see where it goes. If that means that they'll end up in a same sex relationship, then that's fine.
- bshag4lvSeasoned AdventurerI have had several gay/lesbian families that have been very successful with staying together without cheating and raising children, so it really doesn't depend on whether or not they are straight or gay.
I usually let my sims do the picking of their mate. I almost never have them ask the MC question of gender preference, it's just not that important to me. If my sim, male or female, shows no interest in who I think they should pair up with, or never roll romantic wishes for sims they flirt with, then I'll test the waters with having them flirt with the same sex. More than likely they will start rolling romantic wishes for that same sex sim. It's all good. :D
My dilemma is when they show no interest in any other sim, male or female.
One little sim I have has always been lesbian, I don't know where she got that from. She met her soulmate and within sim minutes, she had a "first kiss" with her, on her own. Simone kissed her back without missing a beat so I guess they settled it on their own.
Edit for typos - Sims I've made aren't gay, but townies have been gay.

I'm sorry I'm new to this... How do you make the sims Gay/lesbian/bi? I've been curious about that.
And I'm sure this sounds stupid but how do you get them to have kids?
I'm guessing you just adopt?
To make a sim bi/gay/lesbian have them date the same or both genders. To make them have children you can adopt, use cheats to take one sim into CAS and change them into the opposite gender (toucan easily change them back after they try for baby), or you could genetically modify a baby using the ITF hospital. I'm not sure I you can use the last option in the present.
