Do you find it hard to get reconnected after you haven't played in a while?

Have you ever taken a hiatus from playing the game and when you got back to it, the families that you had been so attached to were hard to reconnect with? I haven't been able to play in over a year and have actually missed them, but I am afraid it won't be the same and it will be hard to pick up where I left off.

  • I never took breaks from S3 until December when I had to upgrade to Catalina (I got the grey screen of death). I am totally going crazy without my S3 (and a few other games that are not 64 bit).

    S3 is my love <3

ETA: I have restartitis. I didn't play any family too long. I hope Mac hurries up with the 64 bit version of S3. I can't wait to reconnect to the game again though!
  • After reading all comments, I realized that Ido have trouble to reconnect. I keep my favorite saves backed up in case I want to revisit them. Last time, it took me a few game-days to get things right in a save from last year. However, once things are worked out I get attached again.

I just don't feel like playing lately and I've been doing other stuff and organizing my ideas.
  • Yes, it happens to me. What i do is move new sims with my old family, it helps me get into playing them again. Just pretend an aunt or some cousins decided to crash in for a while :D
  • I don't, but that is probably because I am challenging myself to only play with one household for the entire year. (Don't ask me why I chose to do this, LOL). So there isn't much for me to catch up on between plays. I also try to play at least once a week, as I consider The Sims a part of my self care which is important to me. :)
  • Yes, in Sims 3 I had numerous families that I played and loved, but had to cut short due to my laptop needing a new screen (it was the "battery", but I really accidentally dropped it). Therefore, once I reinstalled my files, I felt indifferent and completely lack lustered in playing it again, so I switched to the sims 4.
  • Sometimes I do have this issue, specially when my break was during me playing and being really focused on an specific household, so when I think I should play with the other ones that I have, I just can't. Something that helps me is going to the screenshot folder and see all the pictures I have taken of that save, that's when I start to feel really excited about going back and play with them again, but when I do it feels a little strange. Like I know my sims but at the same time I don't? there are things I don't remember, like their traits or what I had planned for every member of the household, so it feels like I'm starting all over again, but it just takes a couple of sims days to get things sorted out and then everything goes back to normal. My plans might not be the same as before the break, but I go back to enjoy playing with the sims I was so fond of
