When my YA's get ready to move into their first home, I give them a 'care package' of starter groceries fresh from the garden. I put the produce into their personal inventory. Using NRaas' MC's 'Dream Catcher/Switch to' command, I tag along with them to their new home. Once there. I put the groceries inside of one of Sandy's (ATS3) chest-like storage containers (I really like the grocery bag fits the aesthetics) that I have them buy. This keeps the produce fresh until I am able to rotate to their household.
Although this isn't a gift. Another thing I do for celebration gatherings is I don't throw traditional parties. Instead I use the 'Invite Household Over' feature, this way my guests can leave when they want to instead of when the game says they have to. It used to bother me when a hungry guest finally gets their plate of food only to have to sit it on the ground (or table) because the game says the party for them is over!

I like the care package idea. And I agree the invite household over option is very useful!
Sandy’s grocery bag is cute and very suitable for produce. Would you happen to know offhand how much it costs in game? Is it able to be placed on tables/counters as well as the floor? And is it live mode portable? Just wondering how it might compare to the modded chest storage/paper bag I currently use. (Even though not all my Sims are frugal—I am frugal for them, lol.)
