I have to wonder if one of the reasons they released TS2 UC was due to technical support reasons - it still has a large player base but if everyone is using the same version of the game that makes tech support a whole lot easier. Of course there is no reason they have to keep supporting the game at all since it's no longer being sold.
Another reason I think they did it was that they were hoping that people would get used to loading screens and lot-focused play, since that's what they put into TS4. Especially all the people who never played TS2 before and only had experience with TS3.
I guess what I'm saying is that they will never release any kind of similar TS3 version unless they have an ulterior motive. :D
