Does this Sim exist?

Literally the most complicated search and rescue operation I've ever been a part of.

I FOUND HER!

I had to go into the oldest saved game I had.

NRASS find graves for Alesha (daughter) and Albert (husband of Ada).

Using my Witch Sim, I cast reanimation spell on both Alesha (daughter) and Albert (husband) graves.

Once Alesha and Albert were added to my household using NRASS, I could search their family trees

Alesha > NRASS > Basic > Family Tree > Ada Vest > Invite Over

Ada showed up as an elder age 119 days! I tried to NRASS add to family, but she disappeared!!

I tried again. She came over as a ghost!!

NRASS add to family and she disappeared again!!

One more time. I got her over, had one of my household members make friends with her - had to use Friend potion.

Made friends with Ada ghost until she FINALLY appeared on friends list.

Took some time, made friends, asked her to move in.

Ada ghost moved in

Edit in testingcheats CAS in order to save to bin

Cheated age to Young Adult - she was pretty old and about to die. Didn't want to lose the ghost too!

Unable to save to bin because she's a mermaid!

Made her human, saved to bin

NOW!!!! I can go into my current game and move her in.


Holy cow. That was exhausting. All this for a character I don't even care about. LOL. Ada was indeed a homeless Sim and did not exist on any of the demographics in NRASS. The only place she existed was in the family tree of Alesha and Albert. It turns out, Ada is the EX-WIFE of Albert, which is why they didn't have any connections. To top it off, being a homeless mermaid about to die, it put her in some netherworld. But, with a lot of time and effort, I managed to recover a very difficult to find Sim. Yay me. LOL.

If Alesha's thumbnail still comes up there might be a chance of saving her. I haven't done this in a long long time, but from my guess I would say that she's become homeless. In the family tree, when you right click and go into Master Controller, can you Add Sim?

I don't see any of those sims on the wikia entry for Twinbrook.

I lost a sim like this recently and was shocked to actually get him back just by doing ResetSim first name last name

I had already failed to get him by usjng NRAAS.

No, by this point they're probably like 3rd generation randomly generated townies. What's odd is, they're not single, they're a family. I didn't realize the game generated whole families by the 3rd generation or more. It's fascinating. It's mostly become a haunted quest.

@TreyNutz I did try resetSim and maybe she reset into the town, but I still can't find her. I've never played her or her family. She's also not listed under anyone's friend list. She only appears in the family tree. They sort of came into my main Sim's life on accident - I wanted to try the witch reanimation and then figured I'd do the whole family. They've all been dead awhile. Just have this one missing Sim named Ada Vest left. Grr. I'm about to go house to house.

Unrelated question: Does anyone know where Sims go when they're "out of town"?

@ShuffleJ Out of town means that you won't find them, they are practically homeless and I think without mods it's the games way of culling sims. If resetting the sim didn't work the only way to get a sim back from is to add them manually to your household using MasterController, then you can move her out with the rest of her family.

The challenge has been to find her. She doesn't show up in NRASS demographics at all. IDK. Maybe she's a glitch. It's hard for me to believe the game generates NPC families with a single father backstory.

Again, I have Alesha (the daughter, brought back from the dead) and Albert (husband to Ada, also brought back from the dead. In Alesha's family tree, it lists a mother (Ada) who appears to still be alive - she's not ghosted out. BUT...she doesn't appear in friends list for either Alesha or Albert - probably because she's missing. Also, because both the daughter and the father were brought back from the dead (through witch reanimation spell) there is no mention of Albert's relationship with Ada - yet, there she is in Alesha's family tree. So weird. I'm now kind of obsessed with finding her LOL

Glad you found her! That’s what I was trying to tell you in my first comment. If her thumbnail is in the family tree that’s the only way to get her lol. At least you know for next time. Happy simmimg :smile:
