@faytheful - That means you have a core mod that is not intended for the patch level your game now has. Or the patch level it thinks it has, pick one. There are only five TS3 core mods in popular usage (I'm assuming you haven't developed your own).
NRaas ErrorTrap
NRaas UntranslatedKey (mostly for developers)
CMarNYC's XCAS
Consort's 2X Weight/Fitness
AwesomeMod
Other kinds of mods (script, tuning, scripted objects) and CC do not throw this error message, only core mods. ErrorTrap, XCAS, and 2XWF each have 1.67 and 1.69 specific versions available. The other two do not.
Had to re-read your comment.
I do use error trap
This happened because I was unprepared, because I didn't know loading more content would require a game patch upgrade/update.
So I was unable to take my mod folder out.
But still only started getting it after I tried to download the stuff packs which forced to upgrade game which forced me to roll back system.
If forced patch upgrade was not required (which doesn't make sense to me why a upgrade patch would stop content relevant to the game from being installed. Makes no sense at all) they wouldn't be sending me nagware now. Their fault all of it.
I use 12 NRaas mods
career
career data school
error trap
master controller & cheats
overwatch
register
story progression & extra
tagger
traveler

Also Sims 3 launcher accessing Active X controls on my computer. Wrong.

I paid for this computer. Stopping me from playing your games is one thing.
That is all your terms and conditions apply to your software
Accessing other software installed on this computer for your benefit & to help launch your
welcome screen in the launcher is overstepping.
