EA you are violating your own terms

If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3.
EA is forcing update if you do.
I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated the game.
I had purposely left my game at 1.67 because I don't like being forced to open
Origin and sign in to play the game.
When I bought the game, that was not required of me.
Now EA wants to change the rules midstream.
When I opened Origin to install the stuff packs, it said I can't install them unless
I updated my game.
This is force update.
Now I am only able to install the stuff packs on one machine when EA terms state
you can install them on five.
Forget that EA its my game, I paid for it & will play it on my terms or not buy another thing from you !

    Hi @faytheful

I know they list them like that in game but I don't think it explains which mods fall into what category such as a core mod and classify them all the same I could be wrong just my own take on what the game appears to do :)

no it doesn't say which mods fall into what category, but Igazor knows so go with what he said.
I posted this somewhere else too but look at Origin #creepy
they know the person with the account name (blacked out) and what game they were playing !
Too much like spyware to me.
When I saw that I was almost fell out of my seat !
They are really letting computers take too much control.

I don't understand the problem. It looks to me that the personal info in the message is read from a locally stored log file.

probably just makes me feel like computers are getting too personal & they're just machines to me, not people.
    It bothers me.
  • The current list of Core Mods, there are six in popular usage now as a new one sprouted earlier this year, and which ones require 1.67/1.69 specific versions:
    http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Patch+1.69

Other than those, if a mod is made for 1.66/1.67/1.69, it will work (or not work) the same on any of the three patch levels. There are no game file changes other than the internal build number through these patches after the jump is made from 1.63 or prior into the current versions.

ty @Igazor you are a big help & appreciate you :)
  • @igazor

Thank you for the explanations and link re the core mods including the info on the patch levels those mods require but can I just clarify with you that I can use mods after 1.63 of any variation up to 1.67 (1.69?) with my disc game and they should work okay? (I mean obviously I will test as well)
