Lets see if I can give you steps as well as Lawertend:
Im not sure how it works with a mac, this is only for pc's.
Download the following:

- You must upload the sim as a sim file not as a family.
- After youve uploaded your sims, take a picture of the sim, edit it to your fancy, or use a non related sim picture, entirely up to you. Open the Image changer and browse for the sim file in the documents-->electronic arts-->exports
And you should see your saved sim file. Open it up and youll be able to change the images.
***The images that you use as replacements must be in .png format at a resolution of 512 x 512 pixels! Or it wont work.
