Elevator Issues

Some of the elevators in Bridgeport have stopped working. I find them when my sims go to the venue where they are, so I can't go into Edit Town to replace them while my sims are on the lot. Resetting them with NRaas Debug Enabler or Master Controller doesn't work. They have to be replaced. But when I go into build on this lot and replace them, as soon as I return to live mode, the game crashes to the desktop. I'm sure I remember fixing them in Build on this Lot in the past, but I haven't played in a town with elevators in several years. Does anybody know how to fix them without crashing the game or sending my sims home so I can go into Edit Town?
  • Shift click on the ground and choose MC - Build on this lot (wording might be a little different). Sims remain on the lot this way. Of course this might not solve your crash issue. I haven't played Bridgeport in a long time and only vaguely recall the elevator issue but have no memory of how I used to resolve it.

@Mikezumi That's what I've been doing, and it always crashes afterward.
  • I just had a thought but I don't know if it will help. Shift click on the ground and choose MC - Object reset - Not inventory (wording might not be exact). Then scroll through and find the elevator and choose it.

Thank you for your suggestions. I tried resetting with DE and MC before going into build on this lot. But I just tried again. This time I teleported my sims off the lot, went into Edit Town, replaced the elevator doors, and teleported my sims back once in live mode again. It worked, but of course everybody else who had been waiting there, including the mixologist, had disappeared. It didn't take them long to return, however. So I guess if that's what I have to do, so be it.
  • Glad you worked something out. It's been so long since I dealt with the problem that I wasn't able to really help you.

At least you tried. That's what counts. Maybe I just need to go around and replace all the elevators in town every couple of sim weeks. I'm not sure it's worth it, though.
