Field trip bug and combined rabbitholes

The current version of NRaas Overwatch is supposed to straighten out all of the issues with the combo lots. I believe it has been successful with most all of them, there are still occasional reports about issues with the stadium/school combo in Moonlight Falls but of course that has nothing to do with field trips as sims wouldn't be going to a school for those, they would be coming from one.

Without Overwatch, or if it's still just not working out right, I would have to say the best strategy is to separate out the combos into their own standalone lots as much as possible.


Edit: Are you certain that after school activities are really supposed to take place on field trip days? Suddenly I seem to recall that part of the permission that we (acting as parents) give says something about the kids being excused from those automatically no matter what kind of field trip it is.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. You're right, kids don't have after-school activities on the day of the actual field trip. I'm talking about the days after the field trip.
The kids go to school as normal but instead of School status of "Learning", it still says "Field trip".
When they would normally go to their after-school activity, they either end up sitting outside the school doing their homework or come straight home, but the school status says "Missing after-school activity". However, if I try to send them back into the school for their after-school activity, it says the activity isn't on.

I have Overwatch. I'll look at the settings. I normally just leave it on the default and let it do its thing. :)

@wendyyi1 - There aren't any Overwatch settings associated with the combo lot fixes. They aren't optional. But just to confirm, you must have v122 or higher of Overwatch to have the fixes (v122 is fully released, v123 is the one currently in beta testing, so either one).

I do know that once a sim child or teen ends up outside of the school during after after school activity time, we cannot send them back inside as we can do while the regular school day is in progress. Or at least I have never been able to do so.

Although I don't know why your field trip scenarios are still getting stuck, I would think a good strategy for now might be to just deny all of them. Or MC Reset the school on the actual field trip day, in the evening when no one is using the school at all. On the snow days, those of us who have the SP Career add-on module (obviously you have to be using SP for story progression) never have them as the code for snow days was deactivated years ago, by Twallan himself in fact. This is being looked into for a future version of SP. But in the meantime that's one way to go, using Tempest or even testingcheats to not let it snow quite so much or to change the season early might be another.

I feel sure I reset the school when this happened to me once. I don't use combo rabbit holes but my sim got stuck in field trip mode when she got stuck in the hedge outside the Science Facility and I sent her home since I couldn't send her to join her sibling on the fieldtrip.

@igazor I'll check what version of Overwatch I have. That may be the issue. Otherwise, I'll try resetting the school.
While I have SP, I don't have the Career module. It's good to know that it deals with snow days. During the most recent winter, I think the kids went to school only once. :/

@Mikezumi Normally I either swap out the combo rabbitholes or else only accept field trips to single rabbitholes. This time I accidentally accepted it because the notice popped up when I was trying to sort out another drama.

Lucky kids the ones in my game haven't seen a snow day for the last 6 winters. While I have SP I'm only using the Base Mod, Extra, Population, Relationships, Money, Skill and a couple of the Personality Modules Fairies and Werewolves (the new testing version 269a) and Vampires and Slayers.
