Oh, the Firefighter Ambitions career is hilarious (and a different case, not so much one of authority). Yes, your co-workers frantically run about the fire station waving maps around and screaming into communications devices if they are on duty when your sim responds to an emergency. That is, until 5pm or whenever their shift ends and then they pack up and go home even if the emergency is still in progress. So helpful. :p
