Freeform placement and rotation "ALT" not working

anyone having issues with the freeform placement in creating a house? I don't want my objects to snap to the grid so I can center them. The game guide mentioned to hold down the ALT key using the ha...

okay, it works! However, it doesn't work on windows or doors, only objects. Bummer, cuz I really want to use a double door without making my wall longer to center it.
