Just gonna update. I ended up editing the sgr files. I thought it hadn't worked because my game (although running much better) was still laggy. In fixing another issue I deleted all my folders and let the game remake them. After that my game started to run really well! There's not a single bit of lag even with more CC than before. I can run my settings high again!
