I posted this in the Store General Discussion area on accident but this is where it's supposed to be so I'll post again, sorry!I feel like my game is pretty much messed up because the Grim Reaper won't turn up. An elder in my active family died and I waited for the Grim Reaper to come, but he didn't. My Sim just floated there for ages until I realised that for some reason nothing was going to happen. So I did ResetSim FirstName LastName and he came back to life and everything was fine. But now I want to Edit Town or Move and I can't because it says a Sim is dying on the lot. I've tried forcing NPC and also ResetSim Grim Reaper but still nothing. I have no hacks installed so I don't know what could be making this happen. It's just really bugging me now because I want to move, and I can't go anywhere. What made this all worse is that after using Trigger Age Transition and my Sim Died again I tried to be smart by deleting the floating ghost. His face went from the side but on the Family Tree he's still alive, and it still won't let me leave the household. I can't find how to bring him back if that's even possible, because I have no urn for him. What can I do?

The only thing you can do is shut down the games process with Task Manager and try again, maybe download Twallan's MC to reset everything in town, that usually fixes a lot of odd and unexplainable happenings in my town.

This happened to my game too. I also tried reseting them, age trigering them and deleting them but nothing seemed to work. I tried this on the sim that died on my lot (a moved out family member) and the random ghost that was floating about town (not sure who caused the problem) niether worked. I also tried forcing Grim Reaper to show many, many times but it didn't help either. In the end the save got deleted and I took the family bin copy of them and played from that but lost a few sims in the process. Glad to know I'm not the only one this has happened to.

This is happening to me too, except not just with the Grim Reaper, but with ALL npc's. Like the maid, mail person, paper boy/girl, repair tech, etc. Force NPC doesnt work. And if someone dies, even when I delete the ghost or trigger age transition again to get rid of them, the game still thinks the Sim is dieing and so I cant travel or move my family to a different house because "Edit Town" becomes invalid if a Sim is in the process of dieing.

I dont have a solution for anyone, but I contacted EA with a help request. If I get a satisfactory answer, I'll post it here so other people might be able to solve this problem.

For me at least, its not a corrupted save file for that particular game, because I started a new game in a different town, killed a stray cat by aging it up out of curiosity, and the cat sat there "dieing" on my front lawn for sim-hours. Forced age transition again so it would leave, and now I cant move out or hire a maid or get the paper, etc. I don't get bills delivered either, but at least the repo-guy cant come when I dont pay my bills, lol.

I'm so glad to hear there are more people with this problem. I created a tread about this a while back but no one with the same problem responded so I assumed I was the only one. Ever since I installed the latest update I've been having this problem. When a sim dies he/she just lies on the floor with mourning sims around him/her and Grimmy never shows up. This then goes on for hours until I decide to quit my game without saving.
I'm planning on contacting EA about this, but I doubt I'll get a useful response.

One of my friends on my list posted about this issue on her mypage.. Sounds like a new glitch. :? I say get twallans mods for glitches like this and it might save you.

Have you at any point, moved the Grim Reaper in with a family as a family member?

This is often the cause of that kind of bug... Sadly I don't know how to fix it, the game is supposed to generate a new Grimmy, but it doesn't always.

LE ME HAS A SOLUTION :D x

Do Ctrl + Shift + C and type in testingcheatsenabled True.
If theres no sims left find a random sim and Shift + Click them
Press Move to active family.
Use That sim to Shift + Click the dead sim and Object > Delete it.
If the sim is a kid, get a adult and Delete the kid.
Your left with a adult, or if you have more.
Using the same sim, you Shift+Click it and Press Edit Sim in CAS.
You now can play the game reguarly :D
