I've had successful wedding ceremonies with an extremely overstuffed household so I doubt it would be the cause of your problem unless your computer is not very powerful and unable to cope with the extra processing required.
This lot were all in a single household just for the wedding. I wanted to be able to control them all. There are more upstairs and in the two sides of the building.
