I realize I am repeating myself but since so many of you are new maybe you missed my earlier post about how to do your wishlist if you want to help gifters gift you :)
Just so you know, I really love this topic because its really engaging new people and getting you all involved so I have found many people to gift out of this topic. I have had to skip some people because all they had on their wishlists were expensive sets and no individual pieces.
However, its really hard for a gifter if all you have on your gift list are very expensive sets. Rarely will someone gift a whole set to "newbie" until they have seen you around for a while and see how involved you are. You may not believe it but many people come, get a gift and then disappear, some get a gift and don't even stay around long enough to say a thank you. So you can see why we are a bit reluctant to buy sets costing 10-30 dollars as a first gift. I know most of you won't be like a few bad apples but you can see why people start out small in the beginning.
If all you have on your wishlist are major sets that may be a good reason no one is gifting you. You should have at least one set at all times broken into their individual pieces. You would not believe how fast you can get a set completed that way because gifters get a chance to buy you a few less expensive pieces from your wishlist. Put a few gifters together and you can have a set pretty quickly.
I know you have all seen thank yous from people talking about having been gifted this set or that set or a world or other large gift, but you need to know that those are people who have been in the forums a long time and are known pretty well by others here. Most of us all started out getting smaller gifts in the beginning. You may think that just having just sets gives you a better chance to be gifted whole sets because there are not any 25, 50, 75, 100, 200 simpoint for gifters to choose from, when actually you may be being passed by because, to start you off, people are looking for those smaller items and not whole sets to gift.
