When i say large gifts I was talking about full sets, complilations, worlds, the things people would be spending 20-40 dollars to buy. Not that people don't buy them as gifts but that usually happens with people that have been interacting with each other for a while.
When we talk about breaking up a set you end up with things on your wl that cost from 25 to 500 which gives you a wide range of items costing 25, 50, 75, 100, 200 and so on for people to pick from and gift you. Different people have different ways they figure out how much they want to spend on a person and may give you an item that costs that much or a few items that add up to their limit and so on. Its not unusual for a person to have the smaller items cleared pretty quickly off their wl which adds up to the full set being collected but the expense gets divided up over several or many gifters so everyone can share smaller amount across more people.
