As someone who strongly prefers creating her own Sims over playing with premades, part of the fun in playing my game comes from watching my Sims act out their own personalities. If my athletic Sim heads for the treadmill, I let him. If my socially-awkward Sim would rather talk to his family members than a stranger in the park, so be it. Generally, I only step in if my Sims’ needs are getting low, if they roll wishes that I think I can fulfil, or if they have something else that needs urgent attention (like being late for work).
