- SillyHartluv8 years agoRising ScoutI would like say I let them do their own thing and jump in occasionally, but I establish dos and don'ts for all the sims in my world using the caste system from Nraas and then I let them do whatever. I have huge families, so I cannot control everything they do. I sure try my hardest. I guess I control important things such as (who becomes their partners, what non-trait based skills they build, how many children they have, and friendships), but everything else I either roll with it and go forth based on the sims' wishes.

Some of them are roleplayed rather heavily from the start so they follow specific goals and ways to behave which, of course, requires my attention. On the other hand I have a lot of Sims who I pretty much let do what they want to do and only occasionally jump in, using their wishes as guidelines. Doesn't matter how stupid those wishes are. Other sims might develop a certain "character" due to playing like this and if I think some trait has been established enough, my playstyle might then change to a more controlling one.
- While I have let my Sims do whatever they wanted in the past, I can't stand it now. Feels like I'm watching a movie instead of playing a game, which means I'm not apart of the action.
I mostly let them roam free, but will jump in to make sure they don't somehow die for no reason, and to fix some relationships that they mess up on their own. - I do control everything mostly from Sim M-F.. Unless they decide to paint or sculpt etc, then I will let them do that until their needs are orange. Then on Sim weekends, I typically let them do whatever within reason. For example, I'll have them all go to the festival and just watch the chaos unfold :D
