How does the Lifetime Wish Distinguished Director works if i have celebrity disabled?

I've read in Carl guide that the Distinguished Director carrer needs celebrity points for promotions. I have celebrity disabled in my game mostly because of the immense quantity of expensive presents that my sim receives and also because it's so easy to become a celebrity that all my sims become one eventually. I have it disabled both at home and in the world. I really find it annoying. But i love both this carrer and this LW. Will they still work, but without requiring celebrity points?
  • I would say no since a certain Celebrity level is required to advance. My female sim is currently in the Actor branch, lvl 9 and I need 5 stars for Lvl 10. But since it's always been enabled for me, I'm not 100% sure.

As for the Celebrity system being too easy, I downloaded a mod that makes it harder, you can even choose how hard you want it to be. It's called "Harder Celebrity Difficulty" on MTS.
  • Celebrity is a job metric but you can strategically rise to the top of a job without completing a requirement. Max out the other requirements (Mood and Writing), befriend your boss for promotions, and pick up the Workaholic trait for working at home.

Ah that makes sense. I'm guessing it will just take more time since the Celebrity requirement will be in the "red"?
