How long do your Sims live past their maximum life expectancy?

I know this has been done before here, but I'm curious. Does anyone have Sims that live well past the end of their life span? I set my life span to 306 days, and one of them, Morganna Goth, is on day 322. She is the younger sister of Mortimer Goth, born in game when I played as Cornelia and Gunther. Mortimer finally kicked off on day 319, and his wife on day 321. Some of their children are dead already, and yet she's still here, working out at 5 AM, and flirting with townies fresh out of high school...

  • My oldest living sim (in terms of past life expectancy) was an elder I created name Ingrid. I had their lifespan set to 126 days (I believe) and she lasted to day 198 and then her dog begged for her life and brought her back. On day 201 I used the age on instant on her cause I figured it had already been her time to go and no telling how long it would take to come back around and if that dog would beg for her life again.

I did feel guilty for using the age of instant on her. I've often wondered how long she could have lasted, but I seriously was ready to move on with her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
  • I always use the standard 90 day Sim life. I had a Sim live to be in her early 130s (I forget the actual number). She never ate Ambrosia, nor Life Fruit; she never used Death Flowers... but she did complete the Marathon Runner challenge and was just lucky. Her husband had died in his 110s without completing the Marathon Runner challenge. Typically, most of my Sims die around 100-110 at 90 day lifespan.
  • I don't know how or why but my Sim has been alive for something like 1349 days. I'm thinking now that it's a glitch? She's my first Sim - I just got the game three days ago! Ohhh god I love it- and she was progressing a normal Sim life, but then she wooed a hot chick and I was worried my Sim would die before we got married so I just maxed out all the lifespan dials and now she's over a thousand. I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's a glitch.

    This is for TS3?

What is the total lifespan showing in Game Options when this world is loaded up and with all of the spans "maxed out"? If it's over a thousand sim days, then the game is doing what it was instructed to do. But otherwise sometimes changing the lifespans midstream causes sims to miss what would be their birthdays and the aging manager can become confused. If she isn't an elder already, you should still be able to age her up to the next stage with a birthday cake.

I'm more impressed that they've gotten thru 1349 sim days in 3 rl days. I don't even know how that's possible. That's like 18 sim days an hour, every hour, for 3 days. :astonished:

Coffee. Lots and lots of strong coffee (for the player, I mean). :p

My assumption was that either the sim had a hefty head start on those days before the player started playing them, not that they started playing them as a baby. Or the game's aging manager got very confused by the player maxing out the lifespans in the middle of things. On Epic with everything maxed out, that would put the sim halfway through the Adult stage.
