Note, I do not build my own lots. I just place lots a either download from the exchange or ones from the bin or copied from other worlds.
I already have a world, in which I have placed all the community lots and quite a few houses. I have also populated it with 10 households to start out. I just haven't played it in a while so I am doing some tweaking now I have returned. Tidying up lots, reorganizing households. Which is when I started thinking about how many residential lots I should have. I had originally just placed them in neighborhoods, in areas that looked residential. But I never thought about how many I would actually need. Which is why I am just asking other gamers what they use, what their worlds are like etc.
