that's where the simfest was, in the park. i've since removed the karaoke thing, and i'm still getting simfests in the park
however still no shows or simfests at my other stages, one is in basement of dive bar and one in basement of dance club. they were downloaded lots but i've checked build/buy mode and everything seems setup right, they have a proprietor and everything. *shrug*

I've never tried non-ST venues with ST stages in them, but maybe that is the reason there are no shows in your other venues. In my games, simfests are held in specific venues. The one on Tuesdays is always at either the performance park or the diner, while the one on Thursdays is either at the live show or private venue. Locations of performances are also tied to the performer's career level. It might be a good idea to change the lot type of those other venues to ST venues and see if that fixes the issue.

In my experience one is enough. I've played a family in Sunset Valley for three or four generations, with just one Showtime venue, the karaoke bar. It had a Simfest once a week.

hmm weird, i have several and not one simfest yet. got one in festival park, one in the dance club basement and the performance park
no simfest

i'll try adding karaoke bar i guess see if that does it

You only need one of any type, including the hybrid park/festival lot, like the one you get with Seasons and Showtime installed that replaces the default park in Starlight Shores. The only exception is the Big Show Venue. I don't remember a single simfest at one of those.

added the karaoke thingy and i just got a magic show at the park so that seems to have done something

I think they'll show up with any amount, but if you place more lots then more will happen. I have two in my world at the moment and they happen at both on occasion

an update made it so ST will work in LN bars.
if i remember correctly
dive bar = same as coffee house
dance club = same as live show venue


but its not a big deal, my sim isnt even a performer. is just nice to see others performing lol :) if i get a performer sim i'll audition in the LN venues and see if it works.
