So, if you are tech savvy and feel like moving registry keys to a backup !and NOT cleaning the computer registry and thus losing those keys!, then you might accomplish the same on your own.
The thought is that moving the keys will keep your game from unlocking the content. Then, finding the keys later (after they are moved back) will then unlock the content.
Remember that ANY mistakes in a registry can be very hazardous, but as you are simply moving files, you SHOULD be okay.
Note that there are two locations (both Electronic Arts\Sims and Sims) for each of the packs.
If you decided to try that, let me know if it worked for you.
REMEMBER: Running cccleaner after moving registry files might result in an inability to move those registry files back.
