You don't need to have an i7. The new i5 quad core for gaming just the sims is fine . i'm not a fan of HP .I have had issues with them on more than one occasion and my personal past experience with them is not good. Their Customer Service is horrible and most are not trained. I would never buy hp for gaming or otherwise but it is your money and your choice. There are companies that make much better gaming laptops but you prefer looks and thinness in a laptop which I personally would not do. Asus ,MSI and a few others are known for having better gaming laptops with much better cooling. i own an Asus Republic of gamers ( ROG) . It is a good sturdy gaming laptop and has excellent cooling. I have never needed a cooling pad while gaming
I definitely agree that there are far better gaming laptops out there but I'm very restricted by price especially as I've already spent £750 on a laptop and more than likely will not be able to get anywhere near that amount when I sell it, that's if I'm even able to find someone to buy it. I imagine I'll end up settling for £400 or something because I'll really need some money to get a new laptop.
I googled the type of laptop you have an immediately I saw the prices are way way out of my range.
I already looked at better gaming laptops than what I've picked and they're around the same prices as the ROG ranging between £880-£2.5k or something. I can't afford that. I couldn't even afford the £750 and had to sell some things just to have the money and then seriously suffered in finances after that and still am really...
I'm happy to have a cooling pad and even sit next to a fan while using the laptop lol , as long as it's suitable for TS2/TS3/TS4 and all EP and I can use it a good amount of time or whatever without it overheating to the point of damaging the laptop or it crashing or lagging etc , then I don't mind. I'll only be using it for Sims and Itunes, I won't store any pictures or additional content on it so I literally just need it to be good enough for sims. The laptops with SSD and/or built in good cooling add a good few hundred onto the price.
I quite like HP for visual reasons yes, I haven't experienced any problems with them other than them not doing what I wanted but that's just because I had the wrong specs. What sort of issues have you had then? I'd hate to spend even more money just to run into more problems.
