How to recolor rabbit holes?

Can anyone explain how I can recolor rabbit holes please.. I don't mind if I have to use a mod or CC for this I would just like to have the choice to be able to do it if it is not too difficult..

    Hi :)

    I used S3pe to extract the files, recolor them, and save the files so I can use S3pe to put them back in the world file. I never made them to use in the mods folder. I believe TSR has a program for it... TSR Workshop. There should be lots of tutorials for it.

    I found an old tutorial that might help. While it talks about CAW the files can be put a world in your Installed folder and not just CAW. :)

    This is something I really wish we were able to do in Sims 3. I would love to be able to recolor the buildings like just about everything else to make them better fit into my worlds sometimes. But I don't want to have to go through some long involved process, I'm not good at that. Just want to be able to click on the darn building with the recolor tool.

  • ooh thank you @AntiSocialSim72

    I have not seen that before thanks so much :)

    @Rflong7

    Thanks for that info I am so into a learning curve right now :)

    @nickibitsward

    If only things were so easy as a recoloring tool for these things it would make things so much better lol The worlds I am kitting out at the moment almost demand RH recolors lol
  • I usually just use replacement rugs and doors as rabbit holes and build my own custom shell which means it can also function as something else like a hangout,gym,park, or a library as well as being a shell.
  • Does no one other than me find it unsettling to see sims disappearing into and crawling out of rabbit hole rugs as if they were insects? When I do use the rugs, I try to keep them behind a door or on another floor that I never have to look at as long as things are working as they should. :)
  • Maybe they're just hyperintelligent four-dimensional beings who merely take on the appearance of 3D mice sims to us. It would explain how they disappear and reappear hours later, as if they just stepped through time. And also why they don't seem to mind when some of us, um, *experiment* on them.

    It's a little known fact, but I almost chose Slartibartfast as my screen name here over igazor. Sometimes I still regret the decision. But Slarts was an accomplished world designer where I am most certainly not. :p

    I really love that idea and somewhere across several hard drives I have a saved set of jinx rugs but as I am a totally crap builder I have not tried this route yet but it is something I am going to think about in future as I have managed to download a few Rabbit hole lots made like this but not all of them plus I also have the career mods downloaded somewhere as well to try but at the moment I Just want the rabbit holes to match in my world so everything has a similar looking theme.. I have owned this game for so long and still have so many things I want to try and do :)

    @AntiSocialSim72

    lol and thank you :)

    I just plop the rugs down making sure there is at least 3 spaces of room on all sides I don't even bother building something to put them in. But not more than 5 to a lot or in the case of combo rabbits no more than 3 otherwise you can get to many sims roaming around the lot lagging the game depending on your computer specs.
  • @ScottDemon

    lol but sorry I could not just plop the rugs down like that and use them I am afraid I have total OCD in the way my worlds look so I would use them in appropriate looking lots dependent on whatever world/theme I was playing in and must agree with @igazor's comment "find it unsettling to see sims disappearing into and crawling out of rabbit hole rugs as if they were insects?" I would feel like that too if I saw them that way-)
