I finally get to play again!

In hoping TS3 works well on my new computer I decided to redo the Montoya Family from the very beginning. I'd like some input on my new additions though.

Firstly, the parents.
I want the mom to be from Champs les Sims, therefore I'll give her the hidden french culture trait through Nraas, so I won't have to worry about game issues. I can't decide on a name... my options are:

Allyson, Amalie, Angeletta, Blanche, Bridgett, Catrinette/Catrinetta, Celeste, Charee, Georgitte, Jacquelyne, Jazzmyn, Leondrea, Nicolette, Ninette, Noelle, Odelia, or Sydnee. The last name will be LaFayette.

Her job will be likely a Stylist or Singer or simply a stay at home mom for now, so perhaps self employment?

Her 5 traits will be - Artistic, Natural Born Performer, Perfectionist, Diva and Dramatic

Favorites -
Color - Pink
Music - French
Food - Crepes
For the father...
He was be Spanish or latino since the Montoya name needs to come from somewhere :wink:
My name ideas are:
Andres, Antonio, Armando, Cristiano, Eduardo, Elija, Esteban, Jorge, Leandro, Miguel, or Teo.

His job will be something really good. Doctor, Business, Politician...
or if I check out MissyHissy's job center - Accountant, Advertising, Banking, Real Estate Agent, IT or Lawyer.

His 5 traits will probably be Family-Oriented, Genius, Friendly, Workaholic and Natural Cook.

Favorites -
Color - Blue
Music - Latin
Food - Tri-Tip Steak

I'll keep Valentina and Juliette the same as before.

I'd like to add a puppy to the family for the girls to play with. Which breed should I pick-
Chow Lab, Goldendoodle, Labradinger/Spanador, Labradoodle, Poodle, Beagle, Bichon Frise, Boston Terrier, Chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel, Dachshund, Havanese, Papillon, Pekingese, Pomeranian, Pug, Puggle, Schnoodle, Scottish Terrier, Shetland Sheepdog, Shih Tzu, West Highland Terrier or Yorkshire Terrier.


I also can't decide where they will live. I'm going to build them a nice 2-story, but where? Bridgeport, Starlight Shores, Twinbrook, Appaloosa Plains or Riverview?

In the future I will be adding an interesting BFF for Valentina to do some things with, except they will be quite rebellious.

Let me know your ideas and input! :)

    But regardless, I would suggest as a test pulling your TS3 user game folder out of Documents (or renaming it) thus causing a new no-content one to spawn in its place and see if you can get some store content installed on the fresh folder.


    I'll try that. I had only just installed TS3, Late Night and HELS so I was thinking maybe finish downloading the rest of the EPs and then the store content,but I'll try that.

    And no, I only did Master Controller, Register, Overwatch, Errortrap, Mover, PortraitPanel, RelationshipPanel, WrittenWord.. It just occurred to me one of the extras for MC i think also required SP... I'll try adding in one at a time... I'm saving Traveler, Tempest and Vector for later... and the-one-that-shall-not-be-named... :wink:

    I'm doing the downloads in this order:
    Base Game √
    Late Night √
    High End Loft Stuff √
    Ambitions
    Generations
    World Adventures
    Seasons
    Pets

    I have Island Paradise but might wait on that one or install but not play.

    Question: Does Windows 10 automatically cap FPS? Because I'm confused how to do it since I think that's what happened on the old computer.

    Also, I started the Montoya save... with Eduardo's parents. Now I have to hope Cristina & Elija have a baby boy... if not I'll manage...

    Win 10 has nothing to do with fps capping. The tools to use for that will depend on whether your graphics card is Nvidia or AMD -- which card do you have?

    Then it's the Nvidia Control Panel to arrange for vertical sync and triple buffering and as needed Nvidia Inspector to explicitly cap the frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor.

    Update: Installed all my EPs except IP and got all the Nraas mods in.

    Elija and Cristina are having quite an interesting start. I'm gonna summarize since I'll be making a story post soon.

    Basically, I had them move into the tiny cliffside log cabin at the outskirts of Bridgeport. A quiet place away from the city, but still close enough for their jobs. But, of course, when they arrived Cristina was not happy - The furniture was old, rusted, torn, just terrible, and outside was lots of weeds and... shriek... bugs! :scream: With some help from Elija... and a super late scientist... they got rid of the weeds and bugs.

    And I may or may not have used Cristina's little amount of simoleons from her parents to fix up the house, while still keeping a cozy country cabin look.

    But beforehand, it really started with Cristina getting heckled by someone. I'm unsure who, since it's either the newspaper kid or... Elija?

    To make Cristina happier in the end (Hopefully!) I had them adopt a little friend.
    I won't say what, I'll just say everything's working good so far.

    @igazor do you have suggestions for a free program to export RAR files? I downloaded some MTS and most of it is RAR, and some Zipped which is easy, and another type... 7 something...

    @Mikezumi There was a painting replacement mod you mentioned a while ago... can u post or PM me the link? I forgot what it was already.
