@SPARKY1922 You don't have to switch households to clean out other sims' inventories—MasterController works just as well. Click on the sim or City Hall, NRaas > MC > (sim) > Basic > Sell Item and select the item(s) you want gone from the personal inventory. Or you can use MC > Basic > Transfer From to move something from another sim's inventory to your own. (If it matters, there's also an option to sell from a household's family inventory: NRaas > MC > Household > Sell Item.)
You can store items in WA chests as well. They're available at the general goods store... or buydebug, if you can't be bothered to travel just to pick them up. But the special items might not survive switching households. I made the mistake once of moving (while staying with that sim family) without emptying the chests first, and when I went back via MC to collect the missing loot, Pangu's Axe and a couple of other items were no longer on the lot. The gems and metals were fine.
As far as save bloat goes, igazor will undoubtedly have a more thorough explanation. But the basic idea is that an individual save gets too big—the TravelDB and .nhd world files keep growing the longer you play. Aside from taking up storage space on your hard drive, excessively large files can make loading and saving take longer (I think) and perhaps even make it impossible to load the save at all. Long-running legacy-style saves will need to be cleaned periodically to remain playable.
You don't need Awesome to play rotationally. It's certainly a valid approach, but NRaas StoryProgression can accomplish the same thing, and with more options for you to tailor to your specific playstyle. SimplyJen linked a guide to caste settings above; the first entry is igazor's preferred approach. SP has a bit of a learning curve, but if you're already comfortable with other NRaas mods, you'll catch on quickly.
