I delete my world caches every time I start a game :o
I'm not supposed to? I rarely have any trouble with my games at all. Should I stop doing this?
Just to be clear we are talking about the contents of the folder actually called WorldCaches here, not the more typically mentioned five top level caches like scriptCache, compositorCache and CasPartCache. Only EA Store and custom worlds cache to this folder, the base game and EP worlds cache a different way.
On Windows, it really shouldn't cause quite as many problems as others have reported seeing but usually it's totally unnecessary and makes the game work much harder to rebuild the WorldCaches, if you are playing the kind of world that caches that way. It's possible that the extra strain in rebuilding them was more of a contributor to games not functioning well. The WorldCaches do not carry gameplay data like the others do, more like world map, lot, and object data. It's just not necessary, same as with the Thumbnails folder, unless one is troubleshooting game performance issues and has tried most everything else.
