It's been a while

I started playing sims 3. It's been years. So I'm about to travel. Trying to remember if I go to China first. It's been weird but i'm having fun.

  • Hi :)

Welcome back. ☕ I know China is the cheapest but I don't know which to play first. My Sim just got back from Simhara. It's the first time I've played a Sim with the Photography trait/career. I'm learning to just enjoy the annoyances. 😁

    Hope you're having fun! 🍰

  • China is one place you can start.  If you start there  you will eventually come up with a need to go to a different place to complete an adventure.  There are things (such as Pangu's Ax) that you find in China but will need in the other worlds you can go to. Also, there are things from Egypt that you can find there and use in other worlds.

I have a series on YouTube where my sims walked through all of the adventures plus more, in each of the worlds.  I had huge problems with the final huge tomb in France.  I eventually worked out that the reason I couldn't get through it was I had my sims living in a house they had purchased in the world.  When I moved them back to the Base Camp they could do that tomb. That is the only tomb that had this problem and I had them living in their own houses in all of the world.

Another thing to think of is there is an adventure in China that requires your sim to advance to level 10 in the martial arts skill. If your sims already is at level 10 in martial arts they can not complete that adventure.  I used a cheat to reduce their skill to less than 10 so my sim could do it.

Another thing is the tomb where you find Pangu's Ax in China has a few bugs that were introduced with one of the updates.  The passage way is too narrow for a sim to get through in one place. You need to go into that  place to complete the adventure and get the Ax.  The only way I can find to do it is to teleport across. I use a cheat to do it rather than to make them get to level 10 in martial arts and then teleport using that skill.

I can't think of anything else now. I did have issues in Egypt with the person the sim needing to find there had vanished - but I think that was related the problem of them living in their own house in France. There is a lot of going to various worlds in some of the adventures.

I hope you end up enjoying the fun experience of working through them.

The video series of mine that does the walkthroughs is 'The Isla Paradiso Bunch Part 2'. It's on YouTube.

Thanks for all advice. It's taking me awhile to remember certain things. I forgot how much I really Like it.

  • crawler1218  One thing I'd add is it's worth trying to get 10,000 lifetime reward points to buy the Prepared Traveler reward.  It adds three free days to the length of any trip, so your sim's first trip to anywhere (with visa level 0) would be six days long instead of three.  That's enough for my sims to get to level 2 in China, roll the Confounded Boulder adventure, and retrieve Pangu's Axe, which then makes other tombs easier to clear, and makes a few accessible that wouldn't be otherwise.

If you get stuck in a specific place, you can post about it for advice and I'm sure someone will know exactly where you are and what to do about it.
