- I haven't really had any extraordinary issues with IP, even when I reinstalled and played years later on my new laptop. It doesn't hurt to be safe, though.
Plus it seems some of my gameplay quirks could have saved my games, apparently. (I don't like anyone but my current household having a houseboat so I delete all the others.) - wendyyi1New SpectatorIP is a great expansion pack. However the world of Isla Paradiso was really badly built.
@ciane has created a save that includes fixes for the issues with Isla Paradiso. Alternatively, she also details what changes are required
https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/811253/removing-ip-lag/p1 - karritzNew SpectatorI've got a few video tutorials on helpful things you might like to do once you've played with IP for a while.
If you'd like to add custom dive lots to other worlds I have tutorials for that.
If the four mermaids that can help you with finding the hidden mermaid island turn up without any scales or tails then I have a tutorial on how to fix that too.
I'd recommend having some NRAAS mods to help with issues you will probably come across when playing in Isla Paradiso. That world wasn't well built or tested. I like to play in the world but having Overwatch and Error Trap in the game handle most issues for you. - I like Island Paradise a lot. My biggest recommendation for it though would be to get the nraas overwatch mod, the world has some routing issues with townies which causes the entire game to freeze up on some occasions, and this mod solves them and gets it running again quickly.
Other tips:- If you have your sim stay at a hotel, you can ask the receptionist for adventures and they'll give you a story you can follow and tasks
- If you have Late Night, place a few more bars in the world and replace the actual bar item in existing lots with the Late Night one, then your bars will actually function as bars and you'll have more to do
- There's a run down hotel in the world that you can buy for free and have your sim run
- Make sure to play with houseboats! They're always fun and different to play in. Also make the most of it being a beach world and try living in a house over the sea.
- Try to live on the main island, if you live on the second island it can take ages to get around because you have to drive to the beach, run to the sea, get a boat, go to the other island, run to the road, and then drive to your location. Alternatively you could try placing the Subway stations from Late Night around the world so sims will use those rather than the long process of driving and boating.
- Try to place some activity items on the beaches so then there's more to do there!

I use Island Paradise as an Expansion Pack, as the items and opportunities work in any world.
You can build your own dive lots, and live on an island anywhere.

. - Seconded on EllaCharmed's fixes, I never had too much of a problem with the EP but that fix definitely reduced a lot of lag for me.
Despite its flaws IP is one of my favourite EP's honestly, I hope you enjoy it! - https://simscommunity.info/2016/02/23/sims-3-tips-on-how-to-make-island-paradise-playable/
- The world and townies are beautiful
- How is it going? I was i interested but afraid because people say its game breaking. Even on steam recent reviews say it destroys their game.

This hotel is known to spawn bugs under the ground. I personally delete that lot since I never managed to see those spawners in build/buy mode, but I know they exist because of the amount of errors NRaas mods throw at me complaining about Sims in that hotel.

Edit: Forgot my opinion about IP lol. I think the world and the pack is great once you get it fixed. I personally don't use ciane's save because it is based on vanilla IP (I believe so at least), and I want to use EllaCharmed's fixes. So I made a save where I made various changes to the town with the fixed world file, and I use that save as a starting point every time I start a new game. It has been an awesome experience so far!- There's a run down hotel in the world that you can buy for free and have your sim run
