Kate: Part 1...
As far back as I can remember I've been chubby, and not the most popular kid, but it wasn’t so bad, I had a few friends, they were good friends till something happened and they stopped talking to me, that was last year. I'm 11 now and in the 5th grade my ex friends now pick on me and call me fat, as if being fat wasn't enough I also have big honking glasses, stringy black hair and a genius IQ...I was also "lucky" enough to inherit being a werewolf from my dear old dad, who I haven't seen or heard from since I was three years old, that gives my ex friends plenty of ammunition for teasing. I do have one friend who likes me as I am, Riley Frio, he's an alien who has a dad but no mom as far as he knows, it was never brought up. Riley and I do everything together, including getting picked on at school.
Speaking of parents, I asked mother about my dad once, I can sort of picture him, he has black hair and brown eyes, and is a werewolf like me but she just broke down crying so I decided to drop the subject. I also have a problem with my grandmother, or rather she has a problem with me, she is a genie and genies hate werewolves...she will talk to me but is not the warmest of grandmothers, I kinda think she barely tolerates me.
This is me...told you I was fat, I can't seem to help it, I eat to feel happy...I eat when I'm sad, I eat when I'm bored. Riley and I eat at the diner after school...so yeah, all that eating adds up. I really don't care..

This is what Kate doesn't know about her parents...
Erika White and her mother Elizabeth moved into Sunset just as she was starting her senior year in high school and very miffed her mother uprooted her in her last year of school taking her away from all her friends. She needed her friends around her as her beloved father had passed away 6 months ago, he was her best friend, they did everything together and he was teaching her about witchcraft as he was a witch just like Erika. Erika had nothing at all in common with her mother, who was not a pleasant person to be around.
Erika and Elizabeth...getting along:
Not for long..
Erika was very interested in business and starting her own business in the future, she fancied herself a jewelry designer. She got a chance to do an apprenticeship at the local office building for 6 weeks and jumped at the chance. The first day she met her mentor Thornton Wolff, she couldn't keep her eyes off him, he was a handsome man of 30, way too old, but would make the apprenticeship even more pleasant.
Took the gray blobs out of his hair, darkened it up and gave him the typical studly 3 day beard...
Erika and Thornton became fast friends they had a lot in common, he loved her happy disposition as he had a wretch of a girlfriend who barged her way into his life and house. Luckily she was visiting her mother and would be away for a few months. Thornton was the only one who made Erika happy, she had no friends in her new school and was very lonely except when she was a with Thornton, Mr. Wolff as she respectfully called him.
Happily going to "work" as she liked calling her apprenticeship:
After a few weeks of working for Thornton which he insisted she call him, they started going out together after work. They went down to the beach a lot to talk.
Soon the friendship took a left turn into slightly more than friendship...Both knew what they were doing was wrong but neither wanted to change what they were heading into..
First kiss: (yes she is a teen here so they don't really "line up")
From that second on they were inseparable, they didn't really care who saw them or what people would say, they were in their own little bubble. Erika's 18th Birthday was rapidly approaching and Thornton wanted to make it special, he knew she adored art so he took her to the Art Gallery...
Then out to eat at the Bistro, where he presented her with her favorite red roses:
He professed his love for her down at the beach:
They watched the stars together for hours:
The next night Erika invited Thornton over to her house as she knew her mother would be gone all night for her monthly wicked Genie's gripe fest and all night card game.
They started out chatting...
But things progressed at lightning speed..
After the fact...(she ran to the bathroom...)
There were no regrets as the chatted and snuggled afterwards.
A few weeks later...
Erika was scared of Thornton's reaction to the news as she knew he was not a fan of children due to his unhappy childhood with two parents who fought constantly and ignored him completely, he had a nanny who basically brought him up.
Luckily he seemed very happy.
Soon little Kate White-Wolff was born:
