chesterbigbird: Ah, I see you found a way to disable Turbo Boost. I did it the same way - by making changes to power options. And I told you it will make significant change to temps :D Does it make changes to the performance - in my case, a little bit. I have some lag "here and there" in game, especially in Isla Paradiso, but my processor is 2,2. Yours is 2,4 so you should not notice it.
About win 8. Well... I didn't like it at first, but I got used to it. When you set your system to automatically go to desktop after login - it works like win 7, just faster. I don't use tiles at all (unless I have to, like with 8.1 update), I have a freeware "start button" installed that acts like the one in win 7. I only miss the Aero from 7, but there are some people working on it, so probably, one day it will have an easy installer and I'll have a go.
Sim3Gal1013: both laptops look nice, but do you really want to go with 14" display?
And I personally would go with the one with a bit higher specs. Hard drives are cheap now, and I don't know if I read it correctly - there is a second bay for a second drive, so that gives a lot of room for expanding. But it depends on how many games you want to install, and what else do you want to do besides gaming.
