Legacy Indeed

I) So any long-time Simmer recalls how families started playing a big role when Sims 2 was released. Then Sims 3 was released and the Household became even more of a focus, but townies were equally as important. I love Sims 3, and will always consider it the best game in the series. Mainly because Sims 4 was designed to deviate from the rest of the series. They have even gone on record and said that Sims 4 has no connection to any of the other games.

(That being said I am getting off-topic.)

II) I am posting this thread because quite frankly...I miss the Pleasants and the Brokes. Granted, Mary-Sue Pleasant is available in one of the additional Sims 3 worlds...Sunlit Tides I think? However, Daniel nor their daughters are present there, and Brandi Broke does not exist anywhere in Sims 3. Brandi Broke can exist (more-or-less) if you marry her parents in Sims 3 and have a daughter, but lets be honest - the genetics will not be the same and it will not be Brandi as we know and love her.

(During the Sims 2 era I almost always had one of my Sims marry Brandi Broke and try to fix their household. That is just how I rolled in that game.)

III) I would love to see an exact (or near-exact) duplication of her in the Sims 3, be it added officially or someone creating her. The same can be said about the other Pleasants...at least Daniel so we can try to have Angela and Lilith exist. Yes, the Sims 3 happens before Sims 2 chronologically, but that does not mean they cannot exist on an alternate plane...say an official non-canon DLC world?

IV) Reality: The devs have moved on from Sims 3, so the chances we will get another DLC world for it are astronomical at best. The majority of consumer creators have also moved on, but I still feel like this can happen somehow. Do NOT add them in Sims 4 that would just ruin everything.

(In conclusion, if you are a consumer creator, and you chance upon this post, please make Brandi Broke and the Pleasant Twins for Sims 3?)

Don't hold your breath... No really, The Sims 3 is a closed book for EA. The last pack was released 2013. The last store set was released 2014. The last patch (1.69) was released 2016... and that was only to tie in Origin.

Players still create things for this game everyday. Have you tried Googling to see if anyone has recreated these sims? I'm sure there are.

The chances they will be born exactly as they should be is slim to none. Also, it's so expensive to get new worlds for Sims 3. :-(

Can't help about them being born same as their TS2 versions. But about the worlds being expensive, Sunlit Tides in on Daily Deal Rotation. There is a 54% sale for Sunlit Tides in 972nd sale. We are currently on 105th entry.

This is a no cc version but Menaceman44 made a Sims 3 version of her hair from TS2 on MTS, which might help her look more like herself. :)

That is a pretty decent Brandi Broke...I would probably try to tweak it some though if I downloaded her. lol

Since genetic inheritance is not established until the baby is born, actually I would like to know how you are doing this. Maybe I've been missing something all this time? MC's Play With Genetics, at least the way I've always used it, works on an existing sim as the target.

Gender can be reached with CmarNYC's Pregnancy Controller mod, though. But only for single births or the first baby of a multiple, the rest can't really be reached until the other babies exist.

The two hospital overhaul mods still floating around out there are outdated and known to break games on current patch levels (anything 1.63 and above). Can't really recommend them.

@puzzlezaddict - Bah you're right, I forgot about the Reroll Genetic Seed command. But, as you explained, that requires the baby to then actually be born after the Seed value is changed in order to note any difference. That isn't what I thought you were doing. With Play With Genetics, you can see the effects of the genetic reblend by "aging the sim up," one that is already born that is, within the PWG screen. That doesn't really age the sim up, it's just so that we can get a preview of what they will look like when they are older. And we can reroll as many times as we like until we get a combo that makes us happy.

What SP does is add player controlled parameters to the genetics settings and optionally invoke SP's Advanced Genetics system for more thorough and advanced blending as well as the ability to reach back to the grandparents for more genetic data. Without SP and Advanced Genetics EA standard is used, but the procedures are the same.

Play With Genetics = hair, eyes, skin tone, sliders, clothes (although of course clothes are random and can easily be changed). But not traits. It's essentially the same function used when creating sims from scratch in CAH where you already have two parents made and click the little pacifier button.

Yes, it works on any sim in game. You click on the target sim, then select Parent A and Parent B (the genetic donors but they don't really have to be related), arrange the donors on the left and right side of the screen, and click away on the re-rolls. You don't have to save the results at any point especially if you are just messing around, "X"ing out closes the interface with no changes made.

One kind of a gotcha, don't try to use a teen as one of the genetic donors as the interface will freeze. We have to lock those out as unacceptable choices one of these days.

EA vs. SP Genetics = Either way, I still get a fair number of single parent clones born in my worlds. Not as many with SP's genetics than with EA's, but still more than enough. One out of ten births sure, I can see would look just like one of the parents. But not eight out of ten, that's ridiculous. So I end up in PWG pretty often doing the rerolls after a bunch of kids somewhere in the world are born or age up to toddlers.

I know it's a closed book. That is why I said the chances are astronomical.

I have done a Google search and I believe there was one Brandi Broke, but it was not very good or looked nothing like her.

I have also tried making her myself, but I am an extreme perfectionist and unless it looks 100% accurate I will never be satisfied so it is futile.

Daniel Pleasant is also in Sunlit Tides. http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Pleasant_family

In Sunlit Tides, Daniel and Mary-Sue are newlyweds. They are on a honeymoon. And since they married recently, Pleasant Twins have not been born yet.
