hey all :) i'm looking for ts3 lighting mods. right now, i'm using Environment Lighting Tweaks and i really like it but i'd like to see if there are other lighting mods out there for ts3.
please feel free to share any lighting mods that you use!
I'm so used to the consistent brightness in The Sims 4.... Everything is so dark in The Sims 3. The shadows are very contrasting to the light, and I can't see the ground outside at night. It's very dark compared to TS4.

@sketches
hiya! brntwaffles has a lot of bright lighting mods. potato-ballad-sims also has a clear and bright lighting mod.

reShade is like a filter more than anything but yes, you can use it with Sims 3. :) I have a love-hate relationship with it since it can tank game performance depending on the version, settings used, + game.

heya @dreamyari, i didn't pick one. i went back to the default lighting because i like how it looks in certain worlds like bridgeport and moonlight falls.
@Sharonia, with my Apocalypse save, I use Brntwaffles Dystopian Lighting mod and as far as I've seen, all the weather patterns remain unchanged. It rains, snows...gets windy and all that type of fun stuff. So I'm sure that most of the lighting mods are unaffected as far as weather.

That's good to know. I think about trying a lighting mod just to brighten things up a little.
Lighting mods do not change the normal patterns of game weather but one lighting mod will effect all your worlds skies so I have several different ones and change them when I want a certain look in a certain world. You can also add a cloud mod, plus stars and moon mods alongside any lighting mod which enhances sky effects even more.
You are welcome. My advice to you is if you know you are going to use a cloud, stars and moon mod is to choose those first and add them to your game because if you like the effect you never need remove those mod files again regardless of what world you are playing in. Next take a little time to play around with the various lighting mods and choose several that you would like to keep placing them in folder with the world name you would like to use them with then all you have to do is change the sky mods whenever you change the world you are playing in. I love being able to see various sky changes in my worlds but it took me a while to decide which ones I wanted to use permanently..
I must be doing something right if @pary is using the same combo as me (or perhaps it was the other way around-) who knows :)
@Pary Hi! I'm assuming you're referring to my recent pics in the I still love scenery thread, yes? :smile: if that's the case, I wish I could be 100% sure of my answer, you see, around the time I took some of those screenshots I was testing Perfect Day and Frozen, I don't remember if both with RH water or IP water, but at the end I favored more Perfect Day for that specific game folder and left it installed. I tried to take some quick screenshots again to make sure, but you know how random the lighting can be, no day looks the same :lol: So here are some pictures of Frozen with RH water
