Lost serial code for worlds bundle?

So, for Christmas in about 2012 or 2013 I got the Sims 3, along with a worlds bundle containing Monte Vista and Hidden Springs. These were physical discs. I installed them all that day and have been playing the sims ever since, but it's been quite awhile since I played TS3, since I started playing TS4 when it came out. I'm quarantined, bored, and have a better computer than I used to, so I decided to play TS3 again. I reinstalled the base game and expansion I got bundled with it, as well as the ones I purchased digitally. Everything worked well. I've run into an issue with Monte Vista and Hidden Springs, though.

My computer does not have a CD drive anymore. I looked in Origin and on my account for the sims 3 store and didn't see them registered there to download digitally, so I contacted EA support. They did not see it registered to my account either, so they couldn't help me. This is weird, but it's happened with me with products I definitely purchased digitally before as well, so not a big surprise.

My dad has access to a computer with a CD drive, so he helped me by moving the files from the CDs onto a thumb drive. I go into the files on the thumb drive for Monte Vista and click on the installer. It initially works fine, but then when the game launcher opens, it gives a couple of error messages about errors in the script on the page. The urls given are:

https://www.thesims3.com/launcher/redeemMVDVD.html
https://tags.tiqcdn.com/utag/ea/sims3/prod/utag.js

Then when I tell it to keep running scripts on the page, it asks for the 16 digit code for Monte Vista. I do not have any code. Is it something that came with the CD? I have the box, but none of the paperwork that comes with it. The same thing happens for Hidden Springs. How can I download my worlds and items?

  • The store worlds that came on disc never really installed from the discs even though some iterations of the discs appeared to have world files on them. What the code did, which you would have already used, would have been to take you to the TS3 store for the download and install by way of the Launcher. If the codes you no longer have were already redeemed (by you) and you are using the same TS3 store account as prior, they should be in your purchase history or able to be downloaded from the worlds' product pages on the TS3 store site once logged in under that account with no further real need for the discs.

The codes can only be used once, meaning that the worlds can only be unlocked each on one TS3 store account.
