lot item count

Hello :) I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if there's a way to find out how many items are on a lot? I'm building a lot that I seem to be having loading issues with - I load it and a good chunk of all the items on the lot are black, no textures, etc. They return to their normal state only after I tweak the colors just a tad or select a different preset style - if I select the style that they were, they appear no longer black but they turn back to black the minute I get out of CAS. I'm wondering if it's because I have too many items on the lot.

It's a resort, no CC (I don't use it except for NRAAS mods and a mod for sims to eat together at the same time (used by many simmers I know so I know it's not that.)

If anyone is interested in taking a look and seeing if they can help figure it out, or know the answer off hand I'd really appreciate the help/feedback

here's the link to the thread here on the forums where I posted some pics - the shadow issue with the pool bar and waterfalls are not what I'm talking about here (but if you know why they're evershadowed I'd be very grateful for any insight :)

  • You can use NRAAS MasterController. Click on the ground or floor > Object Info > Not inventory > (All). Then the notification will show how many items were counted.

  • Hope you get this solved. Your WIP lot is absolutely wonderful @AbellaKellaher ! I'm going to be following the other thread so I can add it to my favs when you upload.

Regarding the pool bar and waterfall... I've had these items go dark on me a couple of times in the past. I noticed that this only happened when I placed my build on certain lots however. I was thinking perhaps the lot orientation or the water level in that area caused the glitch but who knows. To fix this issue I deleted pieces of the pool with the hammer until the object colours reappeared then redid the deleted areas. In one case I had to redo most of the pool before it fixed itself. Perhaps that method may work for you at least with the pool items. Good luck!

@skybaker , thanks for the great tip. Always something new to learn about MasterController.
  • @soocoolsim Thanks for the wonderful compliment! ? It's up for download now and seems to be functioning welll but the lighting issue still persists... I'm afraid it's because the pool line is probably lower than the ocean/water line but to change it would mean a complete lot re-do really. There are a LOT of details that I left out of the other thread because, like I said, I love me some good Easter eggs ? But thank you so much for the kind words!! :)
  • Thank you @skybaker! Do you happen to know if number of items on a lot matter after the initial load by chance?

I’ve built a castle with the castle kit set from store and over 3,000 items were counted. When I focused on this lot, everything is in grey colour initially. I have to wait for a while before everything is displayed with texture correctly.
I think the type of items and textures caused insufficient memories to display items correctly. By the way, have you switched on “Enable Object Hiding” in the display option of setting?
P.S. English is not my native. I hope I didn’t misunderstand your question.

you did not misunderstand :) Thank you :) And your instructions were great. I hadn't had coffee the first time I tried but second time through I did get the info I wanted, thank you so much. Do you happen to have any idea of how many items is normal? Also, what affect does enabling object hiding have? Thank you so much for all of your help Skybaker! :)
  • @AbellaKellaher, this is really hard to define how many items is normal. This should depend on your computer performance and I’m not a specialist of computer. As my understanding, “Enable Object Hiding” will stop the game to render objects of floors other than the one you’re viewing. The effect is hard to note but it should make the game to perform better.
Certainly, if you find something disappeared while taking screenshot. You can turn it off if necessary.
