A day in Midnight Hollow
Morning at the Ballan house is usually a madhouse. This particular morning Alice, Josef and Jillian made it to the breakfast table at the same time. Alice hears a noise in the kitchen, thinking it is Victor teleporting in looks up. She grins and rushes to her Aunt Autumn for a big hug asking question after question and giving Autumn no time to answer. "When did you get here? Why didn't you wake me? How long are you going to stay? Can I borrow that shirt? Its awesome!
Autumn laughs, "Whoa, slow down girl" and hugs her again. She stands back and looks her over and wonders "Are the boys lined up at the door every night trying to date you? I bet Victor scares them away?"
Alice blushes and shakes her head no. Josef pipes up and say's "Alice has a boyfriend"
Autumn grins at Alice and tells her "We will chat later."
Jillian and Josef rush over to get hugs before the bus arrives to take them to school. Alice has some extra time in the mornings as she attends the arts school at the Talentless Theatre and is not required to report in until 10am. Alice and Autumn have a long chat in the parlor about boys, school, traveling, adventures, Joseph and Adam. Autumn tells Alice "First loves are wonderful and sometimes can be the lasting love, but, not always. If your heart is hesitating, listen to it, don't ignore what it is telling you. I don't want to sound like my brother Victor but you don't need to rush."
Alice asks "What happened with your first love?"
Autumn looks away in remembrance. He's been gone a long time. We had fun, but, he was not the one I wait for. She smiles and reminds Alice that there are lots of lovely men out there and we can certainly enjoy their company while we wait. Alice hugs her and heads off to school. Autumn changes into her gym clothes, grabs a bottle of plasma juice, drinks it down and heads out to the gym to check out the locals.
